Supreme Court Overturns Bush v Gore (finally!!!)

Read ArticleArticle Source: The Onion

In an unexpected judicial turnaround, the Supreme Court this week reversed its 2000 ruling in the landmark case of Bush v. Gore, stripping George W. Bush of his earlier political victory, and declaring Albert Arnold Gore the 43rd president of the United States of America.

This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Gore will serve as commander in chief from Dec. 10 to Jan. 20.

"Allowing this flaw in judgment to stand would set an unworkable precedent for future elections and cause irreparable harm to the impartiality of this court," said Chief Justice John G. Roberts in his majority opinion. "Furthermore, let me be the first to personally congratulate President Gore on his remarkable come-from-behind victory. May he guide us wisely into this new millennium."

LOL.  Love the South Park references on here.  It's really the best social and political commentary and satire on TV and the best part is that nobody is spared.  Those of us sick of the 2 party oligarchy under which we are subjagated generally love South Park.  Parker and Stone slam the elitist left and the elitist right or, as I like to call them, the "Dimwhitcrats" and the "Ripofficans".  Most of them manipulative, ambition driven, and lying.  Many of you easily manipulated, sheepishly following, and believing anything you hear from anyone representing your favorite political animal.  Very sad and not the America built on dissent, strength of character, and the concept of representative governance.  Keep blasting people South Park because freedom of speech is one of the last remaining freedoms we have and even that is threatened.  If it's not the left suppressing your speech for fear of a small minority being offended then it's the right attempting to suppress our speech and actions all in the name of their fictitious invisible deity in the sky and his socalled son whose philosophy most of them ignore.

It hurts more to think of how different things would have been had Gore won. Even if he hadn't gotten re-elected we would have had an intelligent person at the controls, and at least one war would have been avoided.  We joke about Gore being boring, but the Iraq war has cost the U.S. not only in money and blood but also in the good will of our Allies.  I doubt that the country would be in financial collapse if Gore had been pres.

Al Gore is as big a jackass as Bush.  Are you all really this naive?  Gore is an elitist who represented a state in which he rarely lived only because his dad before him had a power hold on Tennessee.  He knows you need him to survive, you need men like him to live, you need men like him to lead you or you're lost.  Do you really think he gives a damn about you or thinks you have the intelligence to question anything he says or does?  He's no different than Bush or anyone else who has been a power player in DC.  I've been around DC elites.  But nobody like Gore.  I can't imagine what he says about the "common" man when you're not listening to him BS in his speeches.

We borrowed over 800 Billion Dollars for Mr. Bush's private war on Iraq, the war with no justification or reason, the first pre-emptive strike the U.S. has ever made (Remember how We felt after Pearl Harbor?)  Do you really expect me to believe that it was a coincidence that the company that Dick Cheney worked as CEO for,  got a no-bid deal for Iraq's oil?  Did it never occur to you that we could have kept Hussein a prisoner in his own country for about $80 mil/year, versus the ridiculous borrow money and wage war tactic that Bush insisted we take?  I don't even have to mention that Bush is easily one of the worst public speakers ever right? Or that his lies have cost this country soo much more that any of Al Gore's programs would?

Conservatism today seems to be just a vile negative opposition to progress in the Real World, a desperate clinging to a past that was filled with racism and oppression.  Real conservatives would turn Bush out as a borrow and spend, warmongering moron.

Honestly, that sounds just like something out of the mouths of Rush Limbaugh and/ or Sean Hannity.  It is exactly what they would have most Americans believe.

Also, the President of the United States has tremendous global impact for the worse if he is "intellectually incurious" as some have termed the incumbent president, or for the better if he is brilliant and possessed of sound judgement as some have described the president elect.

ROFL.  Sure.  Aside from invading Iraq and interfering with what was once a stable balance of power, let's talk about the finances of China.  Are you aware that China is now our biggest creditor, bar none, thanks to the massive deficit spending of Geoorge W. (no new taxes, but borrow 'til the cows come home) Bush?

And don't even start up with Democratic complicity.  It's true.  They didn't filibuster each and every thing Bush did.  And in a few of the cases, they certainly were complicit.  But as a "conservative," I wonder why you, and other self-proclaimed conservatives so strongly supported clear financial mismanagement.

The Onion is a fake news article, usually for the purposes of social commentary through being ridiculous.

It certainly was a Tragedy and needless strain on our country and only onion could bring this back to the reality of where we would be today had Gore taken the helm..?

It is also reported that Gore in his last days will be:

#1)  Installing solar panels on the White House roof.

#2)  All light bulbs are replaced with energy savors

#3)  Windmill farm on the White House lawn

#4)  White House is painted black in the Winter to create extra warmth, and then White again in the warm season to help keep it cool

#5)  New Limo with electric engine, and rest of staff vehicles will be hybrid.

#6)   Chimneys are sealed to eliminate smoke and CO2 emissions

#7)   Pardons for Bill and Hillary, Obama, Biden, Nancy, Bush, Cheney.

#8)   Bailout TARP money fully spent for Detroit on condition only green cars are built and sold starting on Jan 20th, 2009.

#9)   Executive Order closing and sealing all coal mines in America.

#10)  All illegals are granted amnesty and $1,000 each illegal as a bailout package for recompense for America's damage to their life and pursuit of happiness while here in the USA.

#11)  Executive order mandating all tobacco farming to cease and prohibition on any cigarette and cigar smoking in the USA to stem CO2 emissions.

#12)  Executive Order that every home in the USA in foreclosure is titled to the USA, with lease backs to the owner/occupiers, resulting in the recession immediately ending and $3,000,000 new jobs created practically overnight. Best prosperity in America in the last 50 years.  By January 20, DOW is up to 16,000.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Not that it means anything, even if this article was true. This is what Presidents say with their hand on a Bible. King George either has very little ability, or he has no comprehension of what he The Oath of Office means, nor does the Supreme Court. I know what it cost Americans to appoint Bush, but I wonder what he and his Dad had to pay.

Probably as much as Joe Kennedy Sr. did when he put John in the White House.....

One of the proposals Gore has in mind is to build a super huge Nuke plant in Greenland, where that plant pumps out of the ocean zillions of gallons of sea water and makes a huge Mt Everest at the upper latitude of greenland.

That new Mt Everest and some surrounding mountains of ocean ice water, will replace the melting ice elsewhere in the world, to offset the rise in the oceans.

Gore's main problem with global warming is the idea of flooding of beaches around the world.  So, that is one way, along with others, to store ocean water, not only in Greenland, but Antarctica and other Northern locations.
